This week on I’m With Stupid Matt-Man and Jayman flat-out let women have it. We laid out the case for Why Women Suck. We talked about how mean, spiteful, vindictive and down-right not nice women are. Then we backed up our claims with cold, hard facts.

Don’t be thinking we were joking around either. We are deadly serious men talking about a deadly serious topic here. Of course we also talked a bit about Newt Gingrich’s big win in South Carolina, which is another thing we take VERY seriously.

Anyway, it was a pretty good show despite being heckled by some sexy babes vicious women via Twitter. You should totally check it out and then don’t forget that we’re on again Wednesday at 11 AM ET. SOPA So Bad ...

This morning on I’m With Stupid we talked about SOPA/PIPA and the threat those proposed laws against the free and open distribution of information via the web. We also went HARD after people who support SOPA/PIPA but know what a terrible bill it is, so instead just viciously* and callously* launch personal attacks at people who disagree with them. I’m looking at you Dana.

After we got through disposing of SOPA/PIPA and its naïve supporters who clearly believe that we should all just sit back and blindly trust our government to do the right thing all the time, we made fun of the GOP candidates for president. Not, that it takes much effort to make fun of those guys. But, when Rick Perry essentially declares war on Turkey, there needs to be a response.

Anyway, it was a great show and I highly recommend that you listen to it. If you want. I mean, no pressure or anything. It’s just our entire self-worth is tied to our ratings or anything.

My Turn to Be Interviewed

This week on I’m With Stupid the tables were turned and I was the one who got interviewed. I was asked if I have been living a lie all these years since I don’t go by my given name and talked about growing up in Arkansas, being raised by a single mother, religion, writing, and a whole host of other stuff.

It was a pretty decent interview and never got too awkward. I’m not all that interesting so it was probably a pretty good challenge to come up with questions for me. Anyway, if you want you can check it out. And if you do I would be very grateful as there’s nothing more embarrassing than to have really low ratings on a show where I was the one being interviewed. Not that I would focus on such things or anything like that.

101st Show Extravaganza!

Saturday on I’m With Stupid we celebrated our 101st show. We did it because anyone can have a 100^th show, but only truly imaginative shows would wait until number One OH One. And what’s not to celebrate? After 100 shows we’re eligible for syndication right? They’ll be running our show right along with Seinfeld and Friends. What? That’s only for TV shows? Oh.

Anyway, it was a great time. Matt-Man read of some congratulatory emails we received and then we discussed some of the things we have learned by doing 100 podcasts. We also took calls. Lots and lots of ‘em in fact.

And, when Sunshine State Shirley called in, we had pretty much lost all hope of control over the show. The last 15 minutes or so is still nothing but a blur and the ringing in my ears continues several days later.

Office Christmas Party and Jennifer Aniston Sexiest of All Time

This week on I’m With Stupid we threw our annual Office Christmas Party and it was freaking wild! We have a MASSIVE crowd in the chat room, maybe the biggest we’ve ever had. That new time is working out alright, I guess.

Of course, with the big crowd came some trolls, so we have to dodge them the best we could. But, try as they might, they couldn’t bring down the Christmas spirit.

We talked office party DOs and DONTs, some fun games to play and discussed past Christmas party shenanigans. And we had an exclusive interview with Santa Claus himself!

And, once again, we did our newest Saturday feature: Pee Breaks with Schmoop! This is where Matt-Man can’t quite make it through the full 45 minutes without having to run to the little boys room.

Black Friday War on Christmas Radio

On Saturday we held out annual Black Saturday episode of I’m With Stupid. We spent some time mocking the people who went out on Black Friday and behaved in a rather undignified manner. These are the people the show was titled for. People who pepper spray other shoppers, or get into an all-out brawl over fucking waffle irons.

Also, Matt-Man was still suffering from his cold, so he did a great Peter Brady when his voice was changing impression. And some dude named Scott Bull came into the chat room and provided us with even more fodder for the show.

Then, Dana called in and told us about her Black Friday shopping experience. Spoiler: It sucked.

It’s Thanksgiving week again kids! And I know you guys are all gearing up for the big day. But, before you finish your plans, you should definitely listen to our big Thanksgiving Preview Show from Saturday.

We talked about all the decisions you have to make before the big day and debated turkey vs. pork roast vs ham vs red meat for dinner. Funny how even though you see people making Goose in movies and on TV, you never actually run into anyone who does in real life, huh?

Anyway, the Official Hot Mess of I’m With Stupid, Sunshine State Shirley called in to send the show off in all kinds of different directions for a while. A Pizza Party, Andy Rooney and Avril Lavigne Bar Fight ...

It was a virtual Pizza Party this week on I’m With Stupid! Matt-Man and Jayman rolled out the dough, poured some awesome sauce over it, a few ingredients, threw it in the ~~preheated~~ oven and let it rise to become a tasty and satisfying meal.

Along with talking about our favorite pizzas and pizza joints, Jay talked about his days working in the pizza industry while in college. He talked about delivering to drug dealers, swingers and drunken college kids. And Matt talked about how to make a frozen pizza little better by adding some of the ingredients you might have around the house. Like hot dogs and/or cottage cheese.

No, we’re not kidding here. Matt is “that guy.” He’s one of those guys who enjoy things like anchovies, black and green olives and other questionable things on his pizza.

And, as if this isn’t enough entertainment, we spent a few minutes with Zombie Andy Rooney. And even dead, Andy delivered. What a pro!

Halloween Creeptacular

We held our Halloween Creeptacular this weekend on I’m With Stupid. And boy was it! The show opened with a trailer for a soon to be released horror film loosely based on the lives of your humble hosts, Matt-Man and Jayman. Then we engaged in some witty banter, as usual, followed by talking Halloween and taking calls.

And, while Matt and I were bringing the creepy, Dana and Knight called in to bring the sexy! It turned out to be a pretty great show. Especially as Knight watched a certain “inappropriate” video and gave us a little play-by-play of the action. Let’s just say it was HAWT! But, in a totally family-friendly(ish) kind of way.

Saturday’s show on I’m With Stupid started out with the intention of having a Self-Pity Party. But, circumstances changed and it ended up being most a rather awkward, yet endearing birthday celebration for The Creepy Kid Next Door.

CKND called in, and as a surprise, Matt-Man had arranged to have a beautiful young lady with the voice of an angel also call in so she could sing “Happy Birthday.” It was a very special moment. Even if she is probably STILL shaking her head trying to figure just who the hell we are what that show was all about.

Then her mom called as did Mike AKA: “Mr. Excitement” and we shot the breeze for the rest of the show. So, instead of being depressing, the show will actually put a smile on your face. And when it comes down to it, that’s all we really want to do. Thanks for listening!

Haters Gonna Hate and Amanda Knox Is FREE

Are you tired of all the Haters out there? Had enough of people who are ALWAYS negative? Or are always telling you that you not quite good enough? Or always ragging on your favorite shows/movies/music etc? Well so is the entire staff of the “I’m With Stupid” internet radio show. And they decided to do something about it.

On this week’s show Matt-Man and Jayman took the haters to task. We talked about how pitiful haters are and how much they ruin the fun on social media sites and elsewhere. Then, our good friend Dana_Lu called in and hung out with us as we continued to pound the Haters into submission.

Sure, there was that unfortunate part where Jay flubbed the words to CW McCall’s classic “Convoy,” and when he brought up that time he reported on air that Daryl Dragon of Captain and Tennille fame was dead. Apparently he’s not, and not particularly happy about people joking about his potential death. Other than that, it was a great show and a good time. So check it out!

Saturday on “I’m With Stupid” it was a Football Frenzy. Well, it was a frenzy at least. We got off to a fast start with wild calls from the IKR Sisters, Donna and Sunshine State Shirley and things just cruised along from there.

However we did get in some very impressive football analysis. Things like a caller calling Carson Palmer “A pussy who didn’t want to be there” and Jayman getting off this brilliant line that qualifies him to take over for Phil Simms: “Notre Dame completely dominated the game, they just didn’t score enough points.”

Can’t get that kind of analysis anywhere else folks! So, check it out. Our egos are completely dependent upon the number of listeners we have. So, help us out!

We Waxed Poetic

I’m going to go back to posting the show here on this blog. This gives us more exposure to the search engines and makes things even easier for our audience. And we’re all about taking care of our audience. Comments will remain closed here though as there will not be actual blogging going on here.

For actual blogging please make your way over to the official “I’m With Stupid” blog where you can find your daily dose of hilarity and thoughtfulness.

Last Saturday night on “I’m With Stupid” Matt-Man and Jayman stepped out of their normal and comfortable programing of comedy and jocularity and took a risk. They opened their hearts up to the world via the spoken word. It was Poetry Night and Matt-Man and Jayman not only brought the angst and yearning, they also wore the appropriate headgear.

As you probably know, Matt-Man is already an accomplished poet. Classically trained and quite skilled, he is always ready to bust a few rhymes, and can go iambic pentameter on your ass at any moment. Jayman, on the other hand, is a new style poet. A style glossed “Tumblr Poet” by Matt-Man. The Tumblr Poet doesn’t observe any rules or have any real poetry skills. He or She just reads the thoughts he or she has typed out in a dramatic reading style. It works for them, but bothers poetry purists in the same way that the wild card and designated hitter bothers baseball purists.

Anyway, it was a very touching, thoughtful and heart-felt show. Matt and Jay spoke from the heart and explored thoughts and feelings from deep within the darkest and most terrifying areas of their minds. In many ways it was cathartic and in others sad and pathetic. But, it was, as always a great show.

Michele Bachmann and Gay Marriage...

On Monday we celebrated Michele Bachmann day! It was the day that Michele officially announced her candidacy for the GOP nomination for president in Waterloo, Iowa. Soon afterwords she headed out to Berlin, WI to “get a look at that wall them commies built.” Also on her agenda is Warsaw, MO to demand that the Russians withdraw their troops and then on to Moscow, ID to confront the Kremlin face-to-face. She is a woman of action!

We also celebrated the NY senate's passing the gay marriage bill and then cutting a hole in the wall and dangling it invitingly in front of Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Which he just couldn't resist, of course. Anyway, we celebrated and analyzed the passage of gay marriage in New York and talked about what it means for the rest of America and divorce lawyers and tax attorneys.

All that and so, so much more on “I'm With Stupid.” So, give it a listen if you're so inclined. We would much appreciate it.

Music Extravaganza Redux

Hola Bitches! It was yet another classic “I'm With Stupid” last Saturday night. And by “classic” I mean, a “classic” performance by Time Warner Cable. This time, TW decided to crap out right in the middle of the show for about 6 minutes leaving me flying solo.

The idea of the show was to talk music. All our favorite bands, singers, songs, concerts and all that. And maybe some that are overrated and some that just flat out suck. But, just as we were getting into the groove there was nothing but silence on Matt-Man's end.

Sure, one of our listeners could have called in so I didn't have to wing it on my own for 6 minutes, but this was a good character building exercise for me, I guess. I rambled about some concerts I've been to and then did a little back and forth w/ the chat room. Then the Matt-Man called back in and we rolled through to the end of the show like the pros we are. Something I’m actually a bit disappointed about.

A Musical Extravaganza ....

On Saturday “I'm With Stupid” Matt-Man and I had our very first in studio guest ever! That's right kids. We had international pop music sensation Jon Bok Chovie was here! We talked about his meteoric rise to fame, some of the great musical acts that he has opened for and his newest CD where he covers some of the greatest songs of all time! Marriage: Bad Idea? Or Worst Idea Ever?

Last Saturday on I'm With Stupid (what? So it took me a few days to get this posted) Matt-Man and I pretty much settled the whole “should people get married, stay single or just shack up?” question. The results are 1. shack up, 2. stay single and 3. get married if you must.

Seriously people, marriage just sucks and we all know it. Well, for everyone except you and you and .. you're lying so not you. You get the picture. After listening to Matt-Man run down all the ominous signs that he should have picked up on before the wedding and during the honeymoon, but didn't, marriage sounds very scary.

We also had an ad from our new Marriage and Divorce Planning Services business venture as well as a live report from Kim Fragile. All that and so damn much more fun and jocularity. Oh and BTR had a technical glitch and didn't cut us off at 45 minutes like usual. Boy are they sorry that happened. And so are we. We 66 minutes, which was 65 20 minutes too long.

This week's Easter Extravaganza on “I'm With Stupid” was EPIC! I mean, we really nailed it this week. We talked Easter traditions, had a live remote from the resurrection, and uh, other stuff. Including our new sponsor, the Bethlehem Casino Resort and Hotel in Las Vegas where Jesus Goodbar is playing 40 nights at the Manger Room this summer.

Also, Dana just couldn't resist the “Click to Talk” button any longer and just had to try it out. So, now we know that people in the chat room can call the show via Skype using that button. I'm really shocked at how well it worked.

Not only did we establish the we aren’t sexists, but we probably eliminated it as an issued in America completely. Also, it was a pretty raucous show as the phone lines lit up! What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been ...

This blog is 5 years, three months a and 1,260 total blog posts old. That's a long time. I've said many times that I really had no idea what this blog was going to be or what to expect when I started blogging. And, well over 1,200 blog posts later, I still have no idea what this blog is supposed to be, but I can say that the experience has been truly amazing.

There have been ups and downs in the Bloggerhood over the last 5 plus years. Lots and lots and lots of laughs, a few of arguments and couple of tears. Friendships made, and some that were lost. People came and went. Some moved on and stayed in touch, some just up and left without warning or saying goodbye. But, overall I would say that blogging has been about 95% positive experiences. I've met some of the coolest people on Earth here. And some of the hottest.

But, after giving it serious thought I have decided that it's time to end the blog.

I'm just out of gas. I'm burned out. There's no fire in the belly. The tank is empty. I've lost the desire to blog. And a whole lot of other cliches.

Am I going away forever? Well, you can never say never, right? I mean, you can name a movie “Never Say Never” but you should never really say “never.” In fact, I probably will return to blogging at some point. But, it won't be soon. Like not in 2011. At least not on a regular basis. And it'll have to be a lot easier and quicker and less of a hassle. Also, it'll have to be under my own domain and on a different platform and all that stuff.

Might I possibly, from time to time, pop up here? Maybe when there's a big announcement to make? Like if maybe one of my underage hookers nails me with a paternity suit, will I come on here and announce that I'm gonna be a daddy? No.

I'm not going away entirely though. I WILL still be around on Tumblr. Maybe posting an occasional rant there. And, some pics of hot chicks, videos and quotes. And you know I'll be on Twitter. And I'll be around on Facebook, although I don't post status updates much and don't really do much there other than poke hot chicks.

And of course, you'll still be able to hear me along with Matt-Man over on the “I'm With Stupid” podcast. Which is recorded live every Saturday at Noon EDT on Blog Talk Radio. And is available in archives 24/7. And the show will continue to be available on the player over on my sidebar. And I will also post the show here every Monday also, mostly to take advantage of search engines and someone happening upon the show. I'll post the enclosure link too for anyone who wants to listen through reader.

I just decided that, by the way. Which is kind of hilarious because I was sure I had thought this out completely. Anyway, just the show on Mondays. No actual blog posts.

And of course I'm Jayman3768 on Google Talk AND Skype.

I know what a lot of you guys don't do other social media sites like Twitter or Facebook. And many of you don't mix them together. You keep each world separate. Totally understandable. There are many of you here that through blogs is the only connection we have. Well, I'll still be reading blogs, just not everyday. I'll be keeping up with you (commonly referred to as STALKING) and will drop in and say “Hola!” in your comments from time to time.

I had considered listing names of people who have made blogging such a great experience. But, the list would be incredibly long and there would be so many names on it who aren't around the blogosphere anymore. And, I would invariably leave someone out.

But, I will never forget everyone here in the Bloggerhood. It's amazing how often I just suddenly think about a blog post from the past. Something funny, or touching or thought-provoking that someone posted on their blog back in the day. Or a comment that someone left here that meant way more to me than they'll ever know or understand why.

Like I said, blogging has been a long, strange trip. But, every second of it has been worth it. And I thank all of you guys (and many who are no longer here in the hood) for making it so freaking awesome.

As far as any “regular” blog posting, this will be the last one on this blog. And so my friends in this wacky and wonderful world we call the blogosphere, I wish all of you the best, and bid you a most heart-felt adieu.

Some General Observations About People....

There are always exceptions but...

People who constantly claim to be “a really good person” are usually really crappy people.

People who make a big deal about being a “great and loyal friend” are backstabbers.

People who talk all the time about how proud they are of all they've accomplished and how they've “earned” everything usually either inherited most of it or at least had parents well off enough to pay for their education completely and help them out financially.

People who make a big deal about how they are a really GREAT Christian are usually the ones having an affair with the neighbor's daughter or son and are screwing over their customers/employers/employees etc.

People who talk all the time about how hard they work are usually lazy and only do enough to get by at work.

People who talk about how important their job is are usually just another corporate cow grazing on the cubicle farm.

People who love to make fun of others for problems with addictions are usually fighting addictions of their own.

People who loudly claim that they don't watch “mindless” TV usually spend a lot of time watching mindless TV.

People who talk about how they're such great parents are usually crappy parents.

People who constantly talk about how much they hate gays are usually the ones who get arrested trying to get a blow job from another guy in a public restroom.

People who accuse everyone else of racism all the time are usually doing so because they feel guilty about their own racist feelings.

People who talk all the time about how busy they always are usually spend a lot of time just sitting around watching TV and doing nothing.

People who think things like govt budgets or social problems are easy to solve usually couldn't even begin to make a realistic proposal on how to solve those problems.

People who make a big deal about how they are really substantive are usually incredibly shallow.

People who are really vain and talk a lot about how good they're looking are usually ugly.

People who constantly complain about how much they hate judgmental people are usually the most judgmental people you'll meet.

And on and on and on ….

The people who truly are good, decent, hard working, Christian, non judgmental and all those other good qualities don't have to make a big deal about it and call attention to themselves all the time.

Death is Funny if Done the Right Way...

Once again BTR played the role of the man trying to keep us down this week. Just like last Saturday, it wouldn't let both Matt-Man and me in the chat room, my switchboard was frozen and Matt's was flashing like a strobe light. But, a new feature this week was a clicking and popping noise that I could hear while doing the show. And, unfortunately, the listener can hear it too from time to time. But, it isn't constant. It comes and goes.

Anyway, in spite of all this, last night's Death: The Lighter Side was a really hilariously good time, if I do say so myself. Our good friend Augusto called in and hung out with us. And Curious Chris also called and it told us about a Swedish funeral that he attended in Seattle once. Unfortunately, ABBA didn't perform. But, it was still a nice story.

Matt-Man and I talked a bit about how we would like to go out. We both have some pretty good ideas. We discussed how Pope John Paul II had one of the best funerals ever and how I love big fancy shindigs like that. I can't wait until Queen Elizabeth II dies. Oh what a great funeral THAT'S gonna be!

And then things went a bit off the rails in the final 15 minutes when we talked about Asian women and then discussing how rude it was of Matt's brother to die right in the middle of the best gags Matt had run on his blog in some time. That being his secession from the union and establishment of his own sovereign country in his apartment.

And, we also have a major announcement to make:

The critically acclaimed, and highly rated internet radio show “I'm With Stupid” hosted by the legendary internet radio duo of Matt-Man and Jayman will be moving to a new time slot. Effective Saturday April 16, 2011, “I'm With Stupid” will be broadcasting live at 12 noon EDT at the same location on the internet. RIGHT HERE.

Matt-Man and Jayman both feel that the new time slot will be more convenient for the shows fans and will especially be so for them. They believe that by being awake and at least mostly sober, they will provide an even better radio experience for their vast and diverse world wide audience. And they won't have to stay up late on Thursdays anymore.

So, don't forget. “I'm With Stupid” will be moving to 12 noon EDT, 11 am CDT, 10 am MDT and 9 am PDT on Saturdays beginning on April 16^th, 2011. We hope to see y'all there.

I Laugh in the Face of Death...

One of my favorite writers, Sarah Vowell, once wrote something along the lines of “while I am completely obsessed with death, I am opposed to it.”

I've actually known a few people who were obsessed with death and dying. In fact, they were more afraid of dying than anything else in the world. And not just because they knew that their mothers would find that stack of magazines and, you know, “stuff” they keep in a special box in their closets. Nor am I talking about those Goth freaks who walk around wearing black and put on makeup that makes them look like death warmed over all the time either. Some of those chicks are actually pretty hot. No, I'm talking about people who actually sat around and worried about how and when they would die.

That's crazy. And kind of funny. And when you think about it, dying is pretty funny too. Sometimes it is. I mean, at least if you do it right it can be. Like, if your final words are “Hold my beer and watch this” then it was probably pretty funny.

If the last thing you see is your wife standing over you saying “How do you reload this damn thing” your death might be a terrible tragedy. Or, you might have had it coming and people might shake their heads and actually laugh a bit and say “poor dumb bastard” to themselves.

You know what else is funny? Or at least should be funny? Funerals.

Oh I know, you're shaking your head saying funerals are somber times and people shouldn't be laughing. I disagree. I think funerals could be vastly improved by having someone get up there and doing a good five minute stand up routine. I mean, unless the deceased didn't have a sense of humor. If that's the case then go ahead and go with the gloomy, somber funeral, I guess.

And then after the funeral it's time for the reception at the dearly departed's home. And if they don't have an open bar then they're just not being respectful of the dead at all. Some dancing girls would be nice too.

Funerals are actually a celebration of life and should be treated as such. Yes, there will be mourning and you will miss the dearly departed and be sad at times. But, you should also remember the happy times and remember that they will be there with you in spirit (depending on your beliefs) for the good times and the bad times in the future too.

So, it's in this celebration of life spirit that Matt-Man and I present Death: The Lighter Side on Thursday at 11 pm EDT on “I'm With Stupid.” We'll talk death and funerals and dying … and life. And all the fun and games that go along with it. We'll talk about people we miss and maybe preview our own deaths a little. And of course, we would love for you to call in and share your stories with us too!

It's Not Me, It's Them ...

Before we get started today, my good friend Matt-Man's brother John passed away today. I just wanted to send out my condolences to Matt and his family.

So the other day I needed a couple of things, and by “things” I mean Pepsi, Nacho Cheese Doritos and some food safe latex gloves. So, of course I headed to the Dollar General Store. They had six pack cans of Pepsi for only $1.25. Seriously, they're pushers.

Anyway, I get there and park and get out of my vehicle and am heading into the store at the same time as some lady. Being the gentleman that I am, I waited for her and then opened the door and held it for her. Without looking at me or smiling or anything, she said “Thanks” and then headed into the store. As she was going in you know what she did?

She reached out and pushed the door open a bit. So, I'm holding the door for her, and she feels the need to put her hand on the door and hold it open for herself also. As if she thinks I'm gonna let go and let the door close on her and knock her down or something.

So, I'm standing there, holding the door and I'm thinking to myself WTH? (I speak to myself in internet abbreviations LOL!) I'm thinking that I'm not really a scary guy. Or don't look like the kind of guy who would do something like that. I don't lack manners. I'm not gruff and short with people. So why doesn't she trust me to hold the door open?

Then I think maybe it's not me. Maybe it's her. Maybe when she was a kid, someone else, maybe even a guy who looks similar to me, let go of a door and it hit her and hurt her. Maybe it was a traumatic experience. You know, maybe the door knocked her down and all the other kids pointed and laughed. And my her mother pointed and laughed too. And then maybe her dad yelled at her to get up and stop embarrassing the family. And now, all these years later, she just can't trust anyone holding the door open for her.

Whatever. I go into the store, get my Pepsi and Doritos (they were out of the gloves) and pay for them and leave. But, as I'm leaving I see an much older lady walking towards the door. Ah! A chance for humanity to redeem itself and I can restore my believe that people don't automatically think that I'm an a-hole.

I go out the door and then turn around and hold the door for the old lay. I smile at her and nod as she says “Why thank you” and then you know what she does?

SHE PUTS HER HAND ON THE DOOR AND HOLDS IT OPEN AS IF I'M GONNA LET GO OF IT!

Seriously, this is ridiculous.

Okay, couple of day later I was in Dollar Tree, because Dollar General was just too fancy a place for me. And, as I was leaving, right behind me was another older lady getting her stuff out of her shopping cart. I figured I had another chance to test things out again.

I go out the door and stop and hold the door open for her. She doesn't reach up and hold the door at all! She even smiles at me and says “Thank you so much! You know, not too many people have manners these days.”

I said “You're welcome” and then looked back to make sure I wasn't shutting the door on anyone. And I noticed that this lady who just told me that people don't have any manners these days, had left her cart right in front of the door and nobody could get out of the store without moving it and probably putting back where it belongs for her.

I look at that and kind of laughed to myself and said “Yeah, it's not me. It's everyone else.”

Katie Couric might be leaving the CBS Evening News and wants to start up a new syndicated talk show. She says she wants the new show to be known for “smart conversation.” So, apparently she won't be the one hosting.

The city of Los Angeles received 231 applications to operate medical marijuana dispensaries. Unfortunately 35 had to be rejected because they couldn't secure a contract to sell munchies along with the pot.

My Favorite Podcasts....

I'm really getting into podcasts and have been listening to a lot of 'em. I like it because I can just put the headphones on and listen while I'm doing other things. So, I decided to make a list of some of my favorite podcasts. Some of them are recorded live and then posted in archives, and others are recorded, edited and then uploaded. Most are funny, some are very serious and others are just interesting to me for whatever reason.

I don't necessarily listen to every single episode of these and I don't necessarily listen to the entire episode when I start listening. Nobody is going to be talking about something I'm interested in every time, but these podcasts are at least interesting to me most of the time...

Vinny Bond's Music on the Couch – Monday night's on Blog Talk Radio at 10 pm Eastern. Vinny interviews independent, unsigned musical artists and does a great job with it! He's an excellent interviewer. All shows are available in archives too, of course.

Marc Maron's WTF Podcast – Mostly interviews with stand up comics and comedy writers.

You'll notice that some of them I just linked to the iTunes page. I did that because some of their websites aren't all that great and they actually make it hard to find the “listen” button. Seriously, if your whole thing is being a podcast, you might try to make it as easy as possible for people to figure out how to listen. That's almost as bad as people who make it hard to comment on their blogs.

Dang, that's a lot of podcasts! Well, like I said I don't listen to all of them every week or even all of every episode. And, it's just like listening to the radio. Turn on a podcast and then going about my business means I can listen while doing other things.

But of course, there's one podcast that stands out above all others! And that's the “I'm With Stupid” show hosted by Matt-Man and me!

Uh, okay, so maybe it isn't the greatest podcast of all time. But, it IS fun and rather entertaining, if I do say so myself. Anyway, we did a special Bonus Stupid episode on Saturday and talked some baseball. And, even though BTR did everything they could think of short of knocking us off the air to ruin the day, the show worked out pretty nicely.

BTR wouldn't let a lot of people sign in. They wouldn't let some people in the chat room. They wouldn't let both Matt and me in the chat room at the same time. Our Baseball's Opening Day live remote from our new Sports Director Slyder Balzcock wouldn't play properly. And they decided that I didn't need the use of the switchboard. But, Matt and I being the scrappy and persistent types that we are, we persevered and put out another quality show. At least better than Charlie Sheen's show over the weekend.

So, if you like you can listen using this fancy play that BTR designed that may or may not work. Or, if you only read this blog in Reader, there will be a player at the bottom of the post for you too.

Filling and Satisfying ...

Last night on “I'm With Stupid” Matt-Man and I sliced and diced all the important sides, like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and other useful items and served up a tasty and satisfying little radio show. Well, we did so with some help.

Our new friend Cracker called in and showed off her awesome Southern accent. Cracker and I happen to live about 30 mins from each other AND we both happen to be from right here in Redneckville. Grew up right here in the same town and never met until we happened upon each other on Twitter.

Ahhhh … The power of the internets!

So, since Cracker and I are from the same town, I was there to interpret what she said for Matt and our vast, diverse and worldwide audience. Matt is still convinced that Cracker loves “Rusty” sandwiches. I swear to him she was saying “Roast Beef” but, he's not so sure.

Anyway, another new Twitter friend, Mark also called in and hung out with us. Even though we had just met right there on the show, he immediately knew not to believe me when I told him that Matt and I are old college buddies from out days at M.I.T. Weird how quickly he figured that out, huh?

And, of course, one of my favorite people in on planet Earth, the uber-uber sweet and tasty Desert Rat stopped playing with her pet snake long enough to call in and try to help get he show back on the rails. I promise to try that roasted beet sandwich soon babe. No really. I'll get RIGHT on that. ;-)

The Art of Making Sandwiches and Bonus Stupid...

You know, there's nothing quite as satisfying as a really good sandwich. I mean, even if it's just a simple peanut butter on toast sandwich. Or, maybe you like to make really elaborate sandwiches with lots of different ingredients. Those are great, but then you have to clean up a pretty big mess afterwords.

Especially if you have to cut up your lettuce and onions and green peppers and then use both mayo and mustard. You DO use separate knives for the mayo and mustard DON'T YOU??? Please don't tell me your one of those dirty people who gets mayo in his jar of mustard? THAT'S NASTY!

Anyway, the sandwich bread, ingredients, condiments, side dishes and drink combos are almost endless. And, sometimes people get lost trying to think about all of 'em. That's where Matt-Man and I come in with this week's “I'm With Stupid.”

We're gonna talk sandwiches and all that good stuff this week. Matt and I will help you try to make sense of it all and maybe give you some new ideas to add to your sandwich repertoire. We're helpful like that. And, we'll discuss the the pros and cons of different kinds of breads and meats and hot vs cold too. We're very thorough about these things, ya know.

In other news this was a monumental week here in Boone County, Arkansas. For the first time in more than 70 years, a license to sell beer and wine for off-premises consumption was granted to a convenience store here in Redneckville. The mayor celebrated the occasion by being the first person to buy a six pack from the store.

And this weekend I got to buy beer without having to drive to another county or even another state. It was a magical experience. They were really busy too! In fact, they say they have been busy non-stop all day and night every single day since getting the license. It's enough to bring a tear to my eye.

We can now buy lottery tickets AND alcohol here. I haven't seen any hookers out on the streets yet, but I'm sure they can't be far behind. And surely, someone will open a strip club soon. In fact, I know of about five empty buildings that are perfect locations for one.

So, things are really looking up in these parts...

If You Wanna Sellout You Gotta Follow The Rules...

So, my friend Gnetch, who has a really awesome and hilarious blog “Thank Goodness for the Good Ones” (I assume she's talking about me when she says “The Good Ones”) posted a screen grab of the rules for AdSense over on her Tumblr blog.

You know, rules always ruin everything. Obviously, I would never be approved to use AdSense because I violate almost all their rules. Especially the offensive language, violence and gambling rules. In fact, it pisses me off that they have those rules at all. Why? What's the point? Advertisers don't want to be associated with gambling or drinking or dirty pictures? Pussies.

Oh and, speaking of rules, I apparently have been breaking some unwritten rule about how we shouldn't be linking to our or other people's Tumblr blogs or talking about them or some crap like that. Oh well, the worst kinds of rules are the stupid “unwritten” rules.

So anyway, I saw Gnetch's post about AdSense as the same time that I was listening to Marc Maron's latest WFT Podcast. He was interviewing Joe Rogan and one of the the topics he was discussing was “selling out.” In fact, you could really hear the anger, bitterness and jealousy (mostly the jealousy) in Marc's voice as he was talking about Joe's alleged selling out by hosting “Fear Factor.”

The reason I connected those two things is because a lot of people consider putting ads on your blog to be selling out. They think you lose your integrity as a blogger, not to mention your street cred, when you sell ads. I agree that some people do. I think Avitable blogged about this recently too. I'm pretty sure he talked about people being able to stay true to who they are and not start blogging towards their advertisers and crap like that. I agree with him on that. But, ads don't bother me on blogs and I think that some people can put them on their blogs without changing who they are or what they blog about.

Oh BTW, you should totally check out Avitable's podcast CYR. You can listen live on Wednesdays at 8 pm central, or listen in the archives.

Anyway, if you can put ads on your blog, and not stop being true to yourself and suddenly become really bland and corporate, then go for it! The only thing I can't stand is when people do a blog post about a product or place or whatever that they're being paid for and they don't tell anyone it's an ad. That's deceptive and it's taking advantage of your readers and blog friends.

I know if I got the chance I'd be a sellout and I'd put ads on this blog. Obviously, I wouldn't be using AdSense since I violate most of their rules, but if someone else wanted to pay me for an ad, I would do it. Hell, I'd even accept ads from something or someone I hated.

Like say Mitt Romney wanted to put a “Mitt 4 President” ad on here and was willing to pay for it. Maybe enough for a decent night at a strip club. I'd do it. Then I would go ahead and trash him anyway. Hell, even if he emailed me and said he wanted to put a bigger ad, with maybe some flashing lights on my blog, and he he would pay me enough for a week on the Redneck Riviera down in Florida at a condo right on the beach, I'd be like “How much room do you need Mormon Boy?”

I don't think I'd lose any integrity or credibility by doing that. I would if I accepted an ad from him and started saying that I supported him though. We all know that I probably never support that guy for any office.

Not that any of this really matters because I don't get enough traffic here to actually be able to put ads on my blog anyway.

You know what? Just typing that about Romney made me really depressed. The 2012 election is right around the corner and it's gonna be the worst ever. GAWD, the thought of Obama v Romney/Huckabee/Palin/Gingrich absolutely makes me want to hurl. Is there ANY chance that it won't be the most horrible campaign ever? Is there any chance that our choices won't be the most depressing ever?

Just thinking about it makes me want to go William “D-Fens” Foster on Redneckville. Or go out and beat up a homeless guy. Or at the very least grabbing an underage hooker and running off to Vegas to play some blackjack and bet on sporting events.

Damn, another blog post that would be rejected by AdSense. Crap.

Spencer Pratt Turned My Lights Out During Earth Hour...

Before we celebrate Earth Hour, I want to wish my very wonderful and lovely friend Warrior_Kat a happy birthday on Monday! Hope it's a great one, even if they are making you work on your birthday. Totally unfair! Anyway, happy birthday babe!

And, of course I want to wish Matt-Man's BFF-OSP Schmoop a very happy birthday too. Hers was on Sunday and she spent it with Matt. So, it was a great day I'm sure.

So, did everyone observe Earth Hour over the weekend? You know what Earth Hour is right? Everyone is supposed to turn off their lights and sit there in the dark as some big symbolic act to raise awareness about the environment.

I participated. Well, not by turning out the lights and stuff like that. I observed it in my own way. I turned ON every light in the place. Then I turned on every TV and the washing machine and dryer. Then I cranked up the dishwasher. All of them empty, of course. Oh, and I left the fridge door open for the whole hour too.

Okay, not really. But, I did consider inviting some Amish friends over for the hour so we could all sit around in candlelight and listen to AM radio. I like to make them feel at home when they come over. I make sure there is some butter the women can go outside and churn and stuff like that too.

Honestly, I just don't really get into things like Earth Hour or Earth Day. I'm not in favor of destroying our environment or anything like that. I mean, I don't think companies should be able to pump all their toxic waste and crap into the rivers and streams. I'm all for clean air and clean water. But, I just don't get into silly symbolism that doesn't really amount to anything.

Do I believe there is some kind of climate change going on? Yeah, there probably is. Maybe it's really bad, I don't know. Is it man made, or is it natural? I guess that's the big question. And I don't have the answer to that. What I do know, is that I don't base my opinion on climate change or the environment on my political beliefs. Nothing pisses me off more than someone who says they believe in Global Warming, or don't believe in it, simply because that's what their political party of choice tells them to believe.

Like the people who immediately starting trying to use the disaster in Japan to push against Nuclear Power here in the states. These are the same people who want to stop coal power and even desalinization plants and, well everything that might provide power and water to people. I just don't get it. Just like I don't get all the old rednecks wearing John Deere hats that show up at planning commission hearings complaining that adding sidewalks around town is “giving in to environmental terrorists.” WTH?

I have nothing against the people who did observe Earth Hour though. That's great. If you feel strongly about these things, then I respect that. But, I will say that turning off your lights and then tweeting on your phone or laptop that you were hanging out in the dark observing Earth Hour probably defeats the purpose of Earth Hour.

I tell you what does piss me off though. People who have no respect for our environment at all. Driving around and seeing trash all along the side of the road just infuriates me. Or if you go to virtually any city park and you see all the trash people leave lying around. Here we have trash cans everywhere all around the park and the parking lot. But, you can go by there any day and you'll see McDonald's and other fast food cups, and bags lying around in between the trash cans. People sit there and have lunch in their cars and can't be bothered to get out of the car and throw their trash way. They just toss it out the window. That's just low class.

Anyway, saving energy is great. Finding new energy sources and lessening our dependence on foreign oil and all that is great too. Just quit nagging me about. And quit telling me to turn my lights out for an hour during the Elite Eight NCAA games.

In other news I was very saddened Sunday morning to check my unfollowers on Twitter and find that Spencer Pratt had unfollowed me under the cover of darkness like the weasel that he is. It really does hurt my feelings quite a bit. I thought The Spencernator and I were buddies. And he just up and unfollows me like that? *SMH*

But, at least Heidi Montag still follows me on there. Which honestly, is much more important than Spencer

Sexy Make Happy Time ....

Last night's “I'm With Stupid” was all about hot, nasty sex. Okay, so Matt-Man and I didn't get too detailed or graphic because we're always thoughtful of the more sensitive types. It would probably still be a good idea for my mother not to listen after the first five minutes or so.

Anyway, we talked sex in public. Places like a concrete sidewalk, in the bushes, in a tree, the dressing room at Dillards, backseats of cars, in trees, private booths at strip clubs, you know, all the usual places.

We were also entertained by the uber-lovely and always exciting Desert Rat!

Oh, and a troll.

And folks in the chat room shared some of their sexcapades with us too.

Uh, well me and SOME of you. Okay, most of you.

Or actually, let's talk about all the cool places we've gotten freaky.

Oh now, don't try to deny that you haven't engaged in a little public action. In the car? On a beach? On a boat out in the lake? In the woods? Maybe left the blinds open in the bedroom?

Oh sure, it's always illegal, but we do it anyway. In fact, it's BECAUSE it's illegal that we like to do it.

And, Americans love to pretend that we NEVER engage in such salacious behavior and whenever we find out that one of us did we are shocked and appalled!

Well, Matt-Man, I and the rest of the staff at “I'm With Stupid” don't have such puritan views towards sex. We think sex is awesome and we're not afraid to admit it. In fact, we think it's so great that we're doing a Sextravaganza this week at 11 pm EDT on Blog Talk Radio.

We're gonna talk about how great sex is. Especially how great public sex is. And we encourage you to set your inhibitions aside and call in and tell us all about your sexcapades too. We've got a special remote from Dick Burns from The Bunny Ranch in Nevada and Guy Ahnyurdyck has teamed up with Kim Fragile to do a very special live remote from outside of Liz Taylor's house. It's very touching.
